A special machine for even higher productivity

Stebler Glashaus AG and Kehrer Stebler AG from Oensingen manufacture letterbox systems as well as glass and metal constructions. The company's success story began 70 years ago with the founding of letterbox specialist Kehrer AG Metallbau. The high standards of aesthetics, functionality, value and durability are reflected in each of the products manufactured in Oensingen. The company had long been looking for a special machine for aluminium profile processing, particularly in the drilling sector. Through co-operation in many other projects, the company finally came into contact with CREAMETAL. Owner Markus Stebler explains: «As a renowned player in the metalworking industry, specialising in machines for the construction of railings, we were familiar with the company. We were sure that we had found the right partner for the special machine for processing aluminium profiles.» Originally founded 27 years ago as a machine and gauge manufacturer, CREAMETAL from Kappelen/BE has also been offering customer-specific machines for several years with its special machine construction. The well-filled order books in this specialist area prove that there is great interest in special solutions and technical expertise.

Drilling centre with several drilling spindles

«The special machine should simplify the three important production processes for us and drill high-quality metal parts with high precision and efficiency», says Markus Stebler. In other words, they wanted to machine very small and fine aluminium profiles in a single clamping operation - with four holes including threads. Markus Stebler found out in his research that large, renowned centre manufacturers would not have been able to machine such fine, small profiles efficiently. And so it was up to Reto Gasser, Head of Development at CREAMETAL AG, to initiate the entire development work for the special drilling centre. The engineer had plenty of experience – after all, he is one of the key co-inventors of the CREA-WHEEL straightening machine. The close collaboration between Stebler Glashaus AG and Reto Gasser's development team enabled the machine to be customised to meet the specific requirements. Markus Stebler, owner of Stebler AG, emphasises: „It was only thanks to this close partnership that we were able to find the optimum solution for production.“

50% time saving

The short development time of three months between customer enquiry and completion of the machine had a very positive impact on production planning, as Anita Stebler confirms. The specific advantages of the new special machine for aluminium profile processing are impressive. «The simultaneous drilling of up to four holes leads to a reduction in machining time of up to 50% from the first day of commissioning», says Anita Stebler. In addition, the machine allows the machine settings to be quickly adapted to different profile shapes and sizes. It also integrates a quality control system that monitors the accuracy and surface quality of the drilled profiles. This makes a significant contribution to improving efficiency and quality in aluminium profile processing. „The machine helps to fulfil the high demands of customers and to increase competitiveness“, emphasises the company owner. In a highly competitive environment, this is definitely a competitive advantage,

Relief for employees

The integration of the special machine into the existing production processes went smoothly. The employees of Stebler Glashaus AG expressed their satisfaction with the new specialised machine. They appreciate the simple operation, reliability and safety of the machine as well as the improved product quality and variety. In short, the specialised machine has proven to be a valuable investment. „We were supported by CREAMETAL AG at every step of the process, from design and installation to commissioning and training“, emphasises Anita Stebler. The customer service and the fast response time in the event of any problems or questions were also excellent. With the new machine, Stebler AG is pursuing the long-term goal of strengthening its position as a leading supplier of high-quality metal parts in various industries. Investments in technologies, machines and employees remain the focus.
